LUMECCA Thunder Bay

State-of-the-art IPL skin rejuvenation treatment

Lumecca Thunder Bay is an intense pulsed light (IPL) treatment that actively works to correct years of skin damage caused by excessive exposure to and lack of protection from the harmful UV rays of the sun. IPL also treats vascular and pigmented lesions to help reduce the look of aging throughout your entire body including décolletage, the hands, the arms, legs, neck, face, and anywhere else that you might notice sun or age spots.

How does Lumecca IPL work?

Lumecca IPL works by what is referred to as selective photo-thermolysis. What this means is that by selectively targeting red and brown pigment in the skin, Lumecca offers a no-downtime photo-facial through controlled delivery of light energy into the skin providing younger-looking, firmer and smoother skin.

Key Benefits of Lumecca IPL

  • Non-invasive

  • Diminishes several signs of aging, including vascular lesions (spider veins), sun damage, hyperpigmentation and hypopigmentation

  • Treatment option for skin issues such as, rosacea, redness and post inflammatory acne scarring (PIH)

  • Less treatment time compared to standard IPL because of high pulse and repetition rate

  • Minimal recovery period—you should be able to return to your normal activities following treatment without any disruptions

Lumecca Pre-Treatment

To prepare for Lumecca, you should try to avoid direct sun exposure and tanning sessions at least one month before the procedure. This will just exacerbate your existing skin condition and result in more treatment sessions later on.

How many treatments will I need?

The number of recommended Lumecca treatments depend largely on the amount and mass of areas that require treatment. Most clients only need about 2-3 treatment sessions, but others may require 4-6 sessions.

Lumecca Post-Treatment

Immediately following treatment, you’ll see bright red spots where the light made contact with your skin. This is perfectly normal and should subside within approximately 24-48 hours. Once the redness is completely gone, you may notice that the pigmented areas are darker than before the procedure. This is also normal. Within a few days, those pigmented areas will scab and flake off on their own. To prevent infection, please refrain from picking at the scabs and allow them to heal naturally. Throughout this process, your skin is healing, regenerating, and evening itself out.

The healing process can take anywhere from one to two weeks. After that, you should start to notice beautiful, clear, even, smooth, and younger looking skin.
