Hair restoration

There are many potential causes of hair loss in men and women. Genetics, medical conditions, medications, hormones, nutrition and stress can all have an impact on the growth and quality of your hair.  Sometimes despite lifestyle and nutritional changes hair loss/shedding continues.

Pharmacological treatment options are often undesirable due to potential unwanted side effects. Other treatments such as a hair transplantation can of be quite expensive and require a lot of down time. Although this can be discouraging there are other innovative treatments to reduce your hair loss, stimulate hair growth and improve the quality of your hair.

PuraPlas Platelet-Rich Plasma System

PuraPlas platelet-rich plasma is a proactive, therapeutic, hair-rejuvenation system designed to treat classic signs of hair loss.

Supported by Science!

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) hair therapy is a non-surgical treatment option that has been scientifically proven to stimulate hair growth, strengthen the hair follicles and prolong the growth phase in the hair cycle.

How Hair Restoration Therapy Works

The PuraPlas system uses your own blood to isolate plasma, where a concentrate of nutrients and platelets reside. Platelets are cells that naturally assist your body in healing and generating new tissue. Platelets also contain Growth Factors, which are involved in stem cell migration, and ultimately activate, rejuvenate and regenerate cells throughout the body.

By isolating the platelet-rich portion of your blood and injecting it back into target regions, you are able to fight the signs of lost or thinning hair using your body's natural biology.

Process and Recovery

  1. A small amount of blood is collected

  2. The blood is then spun in a centrifuge to separate the different components

  3. Once the blood is separated the plasma (PRP) is extracted from the tube

  4. PRP is then injected into areas of thinning hair throughout your scalp.

You may experience some mild redness and tenderness to the treatment area that usually subsides within 24 hours. Rarely mild bruising may occur.

Pre- Treatment

As PRP is derived from our own blood the following is recommended to ensure optimal results:

1. Discontinuation of the following 7 days prior to treatment: Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Naproxen, B—Lactum Antibiotics, Vitamin E, Omega-3 Fatty Acids, Ginkgo Biloba, Ginseng, Alcohol, Green Tea, Multi Vitamins

2. Stay well hydrated leading up to your procedure

3. Increase fruit and vegetable intake for at least 7 days prior to treatment

1.  Avoid Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Naproxen, Alcohol, smoking for 7 days.

2. Stay well hydrated

3. Avoid washing hair for at least 8 hours following treatment

4.  It is recommended to avoid hair coloring for 4 weeks post treatment and to avoid using shampoos that contain sulphides.

How many treatments will I need?

The number of treatments required depends on your degree of hair loss and response to treatment.  Generally 3-6 treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart will ensure optimal results.  For maintenance, treatment is recommended at least every 9-12 months.

How soon will I see results?

Most people will notice decreased hair shedding after their first treatment. Following the second treatment hair regrowth and improvements in hair texture may be noticeable.  You should continue to see improvements in hair growth/texture for up to 6 months following treatments.

Is PRP treatment right for you?

To determine if platelet rich plasma hair therapy is right for you one of our Medical Professionals will perform a complete health history and assessment of the areas of concern. Some medical conditions as well as certain underlying causes of hair loss may make this treatment unsuitable.  Treatment plans are unique to each person and depend on many factors.  Our Medical Injectors will work together with you to ensure a treatment plan that is customized to your unique hair needs and goals.
